I've been storing pics from the digi cam on a DVD-RW, as of late the drive doenst see a DVD and it comes up as a blank CD. The drive works with other media DVD;'s and CD's, so the drive and software are ok. Disc must have an error, anyone know how I might be able to recover my pics??

Thanks for any help I do appreciate it.

there was a program out there, called bit copy or soem such, the high end of it woudl copy every bit of data on a disk, then you could use the inboard software to "see" the different chunks and if you spent enough time you could piece together your files and fix them.  Have you tried using it in another drive that uses the same software?  your drive may be fragging on you as well.

This is why CD backup as well as HD is a good thing

find out what kind of drive it is:  sony, plextor, lite on.   go to the manufactors web page and see if there are any firmware updates for your drive!

try the dvd-rw media in another computer.  if the other drive see it you could have a bad drive.
