Delta and Norhtwest going bankrupt, boo-hoo.
Let's not forget several were going bankrupt (these included, I believe) pre-9/11 and after 9/11 claimed the attack did it  to them. I remember no one quesrioning that or mentioning the pre-9/11 problems.
They got loads of federal bail out money. I guess all that money put off the inevitable.
Am I wrong to think that the unions played a hand in this?
(I believe the airline industry, like the entertainmentc industry, got fat in the 80's and just can't lose the weight.)

A lot of companies blamed 9/11 for their weak earnings after 9/11.  Companies like Kmart and Target. It was kind of pathetic, something you'd expect from politicians but not CEOs.
