Thank you for taking the time to contact me with your concerns about Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.

It is crucial we move swiftly in getting the appropriate funds to the region. The areas affected are in desperate need of aid and resources. In its wake, Hurricane Katrina left entire cites in ruin and families displaced from their homes.

In order to provide immediate relief, my Senate colleagues and I convened a special session of Congress to approve $10.5 billion in disaster assistance funds to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). On September 2, 2005, this funding measure was signed into law.

On September 8, 2005, Congress passed an additional supplemental bill to provide $50 billion to FEMA, $1.4 billion to Department of Defense Operations and Maintenance, and $400 million to the Army Corps of Engineers. These funding efforts are the first step in a long rebuilding process on the Gulf Coast and will supply the affected areas with much-needed resources in the coming days and weeks.

Thank you once again for contacting me. I will keep your concerns in mind as we work together to address this urgent situation.

Sincerely,
Norm Coleman
United States Senate

Tack letter, predictable.  What topic heading did you choose?  They have a tack leeter for every topic.

Maybe the part about gun grabbing is in code. Write down every 5th letter and see if the message appears.

I don't see anything about guns in his reply. Typical politician, never answers direct questions.

I have yet to hear back from my senators and congressman(Leahy, Jeffords, and Sanders)

Leahy usually is the only one to respond, cat must have his tongue

Everytime I get a form letter from a elected government official it means: "I don't give a FUCK about you little man."

Those sort of letters are designed for one purpose, and one purpose only:

To demoralize you to the point that you quit writing letters.

In other words, when you write something, and get a reply, throw it away without reading it, and write another letter.

At worst, you threw away a good letter, and it's not like they're gonna remember your name when they see your next letter, anyway.......

I always liked Norm.  Too bad he's shaping up like another bullshit politician.

Send him a letter praising his work, telling him why you've sent such a large check for his reelection campaign.  And.... oops.... forget to include the check.

See if they bother to read that letter.
