The Electric Company has said they have no idea why its out? Then one of the KFI reporters said they found out that "A" cable was cut at a Distribution plant.????? |
Good!
Serves em right for coming up with that dumbass red crescent design for the Flt 93 memorial. |
I'm not sure why I found that funny.......maybe because it was so unexpected. |
I was just going to post that. |
I bet it is because of the CHP, and CalGuard units violating rights in NOLA
Dang. I thought you were talking about Lower Arkansas.
I was gonna report that the lights were still burning here. |
I heard that he only ordered power cut to the black neighborhoods... |
hopefully this is a coincidence, but the day after LA was threatened by ALQ????
IBTL !
In Before The Looting !. Woo Hoo ! Rodeo Drive here we come !. EDIT; Dammit, Uncle_Frank beat me again. |
Yeah around here LA is Lower Alabama (aka Florida panhandle). As far as Los Angeles I give them what, say 24 hours, before all hell breaks loose (aka SHTF) ? |

* LA Members please print out and distribute *
thanks! |

You're optimistic, I wouldnt give em that long. |

I'm about an hour from L.A. and the lights have always been on. Not so much as a flicker... but i'll load up some extra M1A mags just in case.
Looks like the news channels are just having a spaz.
Several areas got power back immediately... it is acting like a very large brownout. A coordinated attack on infrastructure, power in particular, would be quite obvious. - BG |
No such thing when it comes to stuff like this. |
I freely admit I sometimes post after a power outage talking about said outage, but it's usually in order to talk about what ever emergency gear I got to use, so if this next question is a bit hypocritical so be it.
Why is this national news? they did a "breaking news" thing on local the talk/news station |
I hope Sean Penn and his trusty 12gauge can get back in time to save everyody.
I think just because of the AL Quada threat to LA but I'm not certain. |
CBS Radio news just said their LA city inside source said a wire was accidentally cut at a distribution node
also said LAPD is on "tactical alert" |
This calls for firearm confiscations!!! |
Someone post a photoshop of the famous looter cutting electrical lines.
ya mean that azzhat that also claimed that the streets here would 'run red with blood' before our last presidential election????? |
I posted this because of the report yesterday. Plus Drudge has it as an alert. |
And its all Bush's fault.. Damnit. |
Quick, everyone in L.A. turn off your car headlights to save electricity!

Hate to burst your bubbles but it's mostly in upper middle class white areas. Doubt we will see any looting.
Big money is on a cable cutting of some kind out in the valley. Traffic is not moving in a lot of areas on surface streets. I'm over in north Orange County and we aren't having any problems over here. We need to start a poll, W's fault, Brown's Fault, AQ's fault, the Governator's fault, Al Frankens' Fault, Mayor Nagins fault? |
I'm in the San Gabriel Valley, 10 miles east of Los Angeles, my electricity provider is So. Calif. Edison which at the moment is unaffected. But a few days ago, I lost power at my house due to a falling tree branch that that wiped out an electrical transformer a 2000(0800PM), power wasn't restored until 0200(2AM).
I wonder if they will declare a "state of emergency" and begin to disarm the populace.
Will do! |
That has already been taken care of. |
I take offense to the term 'brown outs.'
It affiliates people of minority status with an annoying inconvenience. Of course, it doesn't bother me that they call blizzards and typo correcting fluid "white-out". |
Or camping fuel "white gas". |
here is linky read red part very very weird not hot and power goes boom.
and it is onyl one day past 9/11 www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/12/la.power.outage.ap/index.html Power outages hit Los Angeles Monday, September 12, 2005; Posted: 4:47 p.m. EDT (20:47 GMT) LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A large portion of Los Angeles was hit with a blackout Monday afternoon. The city was investigating the cause and extent of the outage. But Sgt. Catherine Plows, a police spokeswoman, said terrorism was not suspected. Electrical power was knocked out shortly before 1 p.m. after two power surges, and traffic was snarled at intersections throughout the city when stop lights went dark. The lights also went out at downtown high-rises. The Police Department went on "full tactical alert," meaning no officers were allowed to leave duty. The blackout came a day after ABC aired a videotape of a purported al Qaeda member making terrorist threats against Los Angeles and Melbourne, Australia, on the fourth anniversary of the September 11 attacks. (Full story) Heavy usage on hot days can lead to blackouts. But the weather in Los Angeles was not unusually hot Monday. |

Only the cops have guns worth confiscating. |
That bothers me too. Why can't you use brown gas in them? Not good enough for you? Saying that white gas is the only one productive enough? Ban all expressions containing colors. |
what guns cali dont have none remeber lmao |

Well, AQ did announce that Los Angeles was their target a couple of days ago .... who knows
Large Portion of Los Angeles Loses Power By LAURA WIDES The Associated Press Monday, September 12, 2005; 5:03 PM LOS ANGELES -- A blackout hit a large portion of the Los Angeles area Monday afternoon, snarling traffic at intersections and trapping people in elevators. The city was investigating the cause of the outage. But Sgt. Catherine Plows, a police spokeswoman, said terrorism was not suspected. The electricity was knocked out shortly before 1 p.m. after two power surges, and outages were reported from downtown to the coast and north into the San Fernando Valley, an area encompassing hundreds of thousands of residents and thousands of businesses. Los Angeles International Airport lost power, but its emergency generator kicked in promptly, and no flights were affected, said Harold Johnson, an airport spokesman. Downtown high-rises went dark, fire officials said they received reports of people stuck in elevators, and stoplights went out at intersections across the city. Some neighboring cities also were affected. The Police Department went on "full tactical alert," meaning no officers were allowed to leave work when their shifts were over. The blackout came a day after ABC aired a videotape of a purported al-Qaida member making terrorist threats against Los Angeles and Melbourne, Australia, on the fourth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Heavy power usage can lead to blackouts. But the weather in Los Angeles was not unsually hot Monday. |
