I was really worried about my beloved Zatarain's being disrupted in the aftermath of Katrina.

They are up, operational, and working out of temporary facilities in TX.

I didn't know what I was going to do if I couldn't get my cheat cajun grub.

Bleh, Louisiana Cajun Cooking.

Here's the basic formula for all Cajun Recipes

A) Take something good and tasty like shrimp, oysters, crawdad or catfish.

B) Make some sort of spicy red sauce that sucks really bad.

Slather Part B over Part A and HOO-AAH you have Louisiana Cajun Cooking.  he

I can't wait until the Central Grocery Company opens back up on Decatur St. so I can get myself the original.

Wow, I've never heard of Zatarain's, but I've checked out their website.  Sounds really good.  I may get a bunch of their meals for SHTF food for my family. Thanks.

Well... I am not exactly Emeril or K-Paul, but I grew up watching Justin Wilson on PBS and I can make a mean pot of gumbo and a decent etouffe.

If you're ever in SW Ohio, dinner is at my house.

Tony Chachere's is definately good stuff. I use the big green can in a lot of recipes.

They aren't in NOLA either...

Their website didn't indicate any shutdown or info about the storm.

Get either the black beans and rice, or red beans and rice (or both!) and cook it with a spicy sausage cut into pieces.  mmmmm
