What effect do you think the NO debacle will have on the used car market?

People shopping for used cars will need to do some awful thorough inspecting.

How/What to inspect for water/flood damage?

I don't care about water damage if it means I could grab something like a Jeep Laredo for cheap, gut the thing, and turn it into a decent hunting and offroad Jeep.

Most cars with eletronics will likely be fried if the computer isn't well sealed, would rather have something with a minor amount of that nonsense.

But I agree, it's gonna be a real bear.   People better track the vehicles registery to see if it's ever been registered through LA.

Much as when the upper Mississippi flooded a few years ago.  Buyer beware.

Go under the hood, and pull apart all of the electrical connections (all 5000 of 'em ). These will be the most easily overlooked part of the vehicle, and will have mud, or more than just usual "road grime" in them if the car's been playing submarine. If they have anything more than just a very little dust in them, leave it alone.

Mix that in with the high price of gas...I'm seeing large late model SUV's on the side of the road with "for sale" signs and low prices.
