I need a good folding pocket knife for work and being that I have BRD, it has to be "scary looking". Anyways, I was looking at some of HK's selection, but don't feel like dumping $150+ on a knife. What do you recommend for the $75-$100 range?

Get a Benchmade. I broke the tip off my Elishewitz folder a few year ago, and they reground it and sent it back for free. I like the Stryker (910), good blade design and confortable to carry tucked into my pants. Shop around and you can find a deal.

IMHO any Kershaw Ken Onion design w/ the speed safe opening will fit most pocket knife needs, while still available right the fuck now if needed.

Cold Steel has quite a few different knives in your price range. I have a couple that I abuse at work all the time and they have yet to fail. I like the Recon series since I am left handed and am not fond of liner locks.

I bought this more as a self-defense knife but end up using it to open boxes, etc. It is an excellent value.

I bought a Harsey Air Ranger from Gerber at Lowe's for $45. It's become my fav folder and is a super bargain. Mine is as shown, but the aluminum scales do come in colors.

Cold Steel Vaquero Grande,can find them for around $60,six inch blade sharp as a bitch.Been carring mine for a couple of weeks just need to be carful where, but you can flip it open with a wrist snap because the blade is heavier than the handle,just my 2cents!

Another vote for the CRKT M21. Its well made, inexpensive and below your target price.

The M21-02 model is a good size for pocket carry at work.

CRKT makes alot of good choices. They have some good people designing knives for them, and they work well. I have a large M16 w/ a tanto point I've carried for a few years, and when I want to carry something lighter I carry a Crawford Kasper folder I bought last year (met Jim Crawford at the SHOT show, he was manning the CRKT booth, really nice guy). The M16 has a lock to keep it open that's nice. And when you use the rear tab to flip it open quickly, and that big blade comes whipping out, it makes some people clench their cheeks.
Benchmade makes some good knives in that range, so does Cold Steel.

Great knives. Very good value. Benchmade tends towards the larger knives.

How tacticool do you want? A 3" spyderco delica with a plain edge cuts like all hell and the blue handle disappears against jeans.

It fits your price range, and it's a damn fine knife.

My Recon gets to go back to the factory (thanks for reminding me), the sum-bitch sticks closed! I tried to take it apart for cleaning, and one of the allen screws is punched too shallow to allow it's removal. It appears that there's a plastic guide inside the locking mechanism that has broken. I'm not happy, this one was kind of expensive, and it's not holding up very well.

It has to be tactical, "scary looking". I'd say the CRKT M16 series. They're good knives, too.

The other tactical one is the Cold Steel Thunder Ranch knife.
