If we're going to use an ex-president to do it I say we resurrect Reagan to do it. Or TR.
If those guys aren't available I'll take Eisenhower. If we can't resurrect a dead President I say we use Bushwacker the Elder. Anybody but Carter. What the fuck? Is he going to get a hammer and go Habitat for Humanity on that {New Orleans} ass? "If he had a hammer, he'd hammer in the mornin'..." |

Carter couldn't pull a limp dick out of a lard bucket, much less organize a clean-up after a disaster.
But then again, his whole presidency was a disaster, so maybe he has the experience to handle it. |

I've heard numbers of 150 BILLION dollars spoken by these politicians. You can bet the dems have stars in their eyes, drool on their chins, and their pants are wet just thinking about this. Makes me sick to think of how much it's going to cost and how much beauracracy will be created because of this.

Tim Roemer is just plain stupid.  Carter is the worst possible choice. Jimmy Carter couldn't pour piss out of boot if the instructions were written on the heel. He proved it too many times during his brief stay in the White House. Leave it to the Dems to make statements that are completely out of touch with reality!

What makes Habitat for Humanity successful is people actually pitch in to help. In effect, volunteers using tools and getting their hands dirty. Habitat is unsuccesful in places where people think it's normal behavior to stand around, hands in pockets, waiting for other people to do the work. Even the great Jimmy Carter will fail where he has to rely on the welfare underclass to do much of the heavy lifting.

This is actually a great idea!
You just don't understand the awesome potential of this idea. Jimmy Carter will cede the ruins of New Orleans to Panama, so it will become their problem. Let's wholeheartedly support Jimmy Carter for this position. |
