Brown's resume appears to be seriously embellished - if so, he should be fired on principle, competent or not.  Since he also appears to be incompetent, fire him for cause, also.

Unfortunately, easy targets such as this add kindling to the fire of critism from the Pelosi's, Kennedy's, Feinstein's and so on.  You not only must avoid impropriety and crime in these high profile jobs, you must avoid the slightest appearance of impropriety, and this applies to every single government employee, and ought to apply to the politicians if we had enough sense to boot them to the streets.

Let alone the need for competent employees in at least a few Federal jobs.

I suspect Brown did as well as anyone could have and is just being thrown to the wolves.

May not be much in this.

Was Brown really relived?

Brown is still in charge of FEMA going back to Washington.

The Vice Admiral who was acting as his deputy directing hurricane relief is now in direct charge.

Unlike the mayor NOLA and the Gov of LA, he is a political appointee, and can be replaced at will. The mayor  of NOLA and Gov of LA are pretty much fighting for their "political lives," why else would they want to confiscate guns. This is their last desparate gasp of political life. Typical of pattern of most desperate politicians.

You're a _________ _________!!!!

If he is so incompetent, how did he manage to do an OUTSTANDING job last year during the 4 hurricanes that hit Florida? Huh?

I'm sorry, but I just somehow don't see how a man who did a great job handling a similar situation on numerous other occasions suddenly became "incompetent overnight.

You want to know what the difference is? In those cases last year in Florida, there was quality state and local officials (in other words they weren't socialist liberals) on the job who did what state and local officials were suppose to do. That wasn't the case in Louisiana and we see the results. FEMA was doing what it always did. The fact it worked before leads me to believe the problems all fall on the head of the local and state leaders in Louisiana.

Now put that in your troll pipe and smoke it.

Last time I checked, Miami wasn't completely destroyed by a hurricane like New Orleans was.

Louisiana is one of the poorest states in the Nation, their Governor doesnt have a direct line to the Oval Office like ole Jeb does.

Why was FEMA cutting checks like candy for hurricane relief in Florida and now they are being stingy?

FEMA isn't working this time and it shows.  Just admit it, ok?  Stop defending incompetance!  If you are incompetant in your job, shouldn't you be fired too?  If you're incompetance affects peoples lives like Mike Brown's incompetence affected lives, shouldn't you be fired?

Brown has done a sterling job at FEMA up until this storm… The only thing that has changed with Brown in the last year is the State and Local officials he has had to deal with... the conclusion is obvious.

The problem was not Brown.

Lets see, the Louisiana Governor met with Pres Bush face to face, and still couldn't make the necessary decisions, and she had the same direct line to the president that all the governers do in an emergency.

Re them being "stingy", there is another thread here about how much they are paying for RVs. That one claims they are paying too much. Which is it?

Still looking for examples of FEMA incompetance. And examples of them not doing stuff they don't do, doesn't count....

We know what the Governor and Mayor did wrong.

And virtually EVERY thing the same people were bicthing about FEMA not doing or doing last week have now been traced directly to the Governor… Like the Governor keeping the Red Cross and Salvation Army out of NO.

So your man would be cutting blank checks to everyone who claims tohave been a New Orleans resident?  You'd just make checks available for the asking.  I don't know about you but I think we should ALWAYS have been more stingy than we are.  I have insurance in case I'm in something like this.  I have savings for rainy days.  I work and pay taxes and pay my bills so that I can be sitting on credit cards I owe nothing to, but could fall back on if I had to.  I pay attention to the world and would get the fu** out if I saw this coming.  I don't have a bag full of excuses why someone else needs to take care of me.

Rolling Brown's head is just another way of advancing the socialist agenda of taking care of the lowest among us, increasing the burden on the rest of us.  And we wonder why our America keeps going down hill...

We need Superman.  He could of just exhaled strongly to blow that wicked hurricane away.

They should bring in some ex-military logistics officer, like a Gus Pagonas? from IRAQ 1.  The position requires somebody with large scale mobilization experience and execution.  I'm not saying Brown did anything "wrong".  This postion just requires somebody that has the capacity to deal with overcoming obstacles and not giving a rats ass about politics when the SHTF.

WTF about the 5 years experience at FEMA he has. 5 years, 5 years, 5 years experience.

Once again Brown has been in charge during many storms and was in charge during a particularly bad spate of storms in FL last year… everything was fine.
