Since there's so many problems in the world these days I was trying to get my mind off it all and was thinking about some of the simple things in life that bring us joy.  Here's my list:

A good range day: 65 degrees, partly cloudy, 0 wind
Spending time with good friends
Jack Daniels Whiskey
Hot Krispy Kreme donuts
Good country music on the radio
Camping in the middle of nowhere under a starlit sky
Big pickup trucks

That's all I can think of right now.  What do you have?  MJD

You guys are such romantics!

The smell of coffee, playing cards with my grandfather, my children sleeping, the feeling I have when I have a few bucks in the checking account, groceries in the cupboards and the bills all paid.

I think my biggest simple pleasure is being high up and looking out over a valley or onto other peaks in the distance.  For me, it is like a puzzle in that the longer you stare the more details you pick out....putting the whole picture together, so to speak.  It gets even more interesting if you have a decent set of optics with you so you can tell what that little speck out in the distance is.

There are so many, here goes a few:

The first chilly fall morning when you can smell the frost in the the air.

A warm campfire and good company on a chilly night.

the perfect sight picture and trigger break, you know its an X ring before the spotter does.

The look on my 10 yr old's face when he knocks down 2 pepper poppers in 3 seconds

A dive into the swimming pool on a stinking hot day.

My wife's smile when I make her favorite meals.

Chicken fried pork chops, and hominy.
