I went to New Orleans to recover files and a server.

Checkpoint Charlie

The river is open

The backdoor into the builing and 14 floors of stairs.

The glass.  Luckily, it had finished falling a few days ago.

Only two of the offices had windows out and only one suffered any real damage.

That's a server in the ALICE pack, lovingly carried down 14 flights of stairs!

Walking around with no magas in the rifles.

They can pick up the ammo when they confiscate the weapons.

Armed with:
1.  Bushmaster M4 carbine & 6 30round mags
2.  Winchester DEfendner 12 ga, 200 rounds of 00 and slug
3.  Glock 34 9mm
4.  Glock 20 10mm

Entry:
1.  Entry was controlled.
2.  We were not searched when we entered.

The Building:
1.  It is located at the courthouse so we weren't walking around with weapons out.
2.  since the 82nd was arond, I had planned to go in with myglock 20 and flashlight, but the door we found open had been pried so I went back and brought the discreet carry case from the vehicle into the stairwell and locked and loaded the M4 Carbine.
3.  On the 10th floor, we heard a generator and found chritmas lights on the stairwell hand rials.  I went into the office with the M4 and flashlight and located some guys babysitting a serfver famr and the generator.  They had AC and lights on that floor.
4.  These guys had a key to the 14th floor so we didn't have to use a corwbar to enter the office..
5.  These guys also didn't think twice about me appearring in their doorway with an AR-15.

I thought the storm/flood turned all people into looters?

anyway, that's what I keep getting told

You said entry was controlled.  I am a little suprised that you did not have a big hassle getting into the city.  Did they just ask why you wanted in and let you go when the explanation made sense?

I noticed you didn't carry your "Dennis Coffren" special with you for protection

Based on the Interdictor's blog, I think it was the 82nd who pried that door for a building search.

The police have the city sealed off at the highways.

We went to Baton Rouge and took 90 down south and came into New Orleans from the back side.
