I was talking earlier to my friend from McComb, MS, and he was telling me that McComb (a town that normally has one rape per year, at most) had a rape last week - it appears that a refugee raped a woman in the grocery-store parking lot.

So, anyway, I was wondering - are there other reports of crime (especially violent crime) coming to town wherever the refugees go?

Same attitude--different location. If they were good people in NOLA they will continue to be the same. If not, they have found a new place to and new people to fuck with.

Just reading the threads around here, there have been several incidents regarding NOLA refugees trying to muscle in on local populations and increases in crime. I think I would have to be idealistic and naive to believe it woudln't happen. A lot of those displaced citizens were looting a week ago. They didn't get to keep their stuff when they were bussed out.

I wonder how many of the "project" refugees will meat their deaths by folks in their "new" home towns. Lots of places won't stand for their bullshit, and it won't be long before some former looter turned burgler gets shot by a homeowner.

People with nothing to lose and the attitude that the 'government owes them', will do absolutely anything. Crimes rates will definitely go up in the cities they are evacuated to.

If these were just project people I could understand a slight jump. As I understand things, local jails were open and the *inmates* were allowed to go free. I think some of the violent crime is directly due to this. No?

Funny, apparently the Chief of Police and Mayor of Baton Rouge insist that there has been no increase in crime there since the mass influx of NO refugees....yeah, right, sure. Thats not what I hear....

BTW the Mayor happens to be a "person of color(tm)", "person of melanin" (no shit, that a real one, read it used in the UB Student Paper...), or whatever the current PC euphanism is. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.....

Sadly there is no answer other than yes, they will bring their basic behaviors with them. The law abiding folks will still be law abiding folks, and the criminals will still be criminals. And the criminals will be in a new target rich environment.
