Mine  has worked pretty good getting the truck unstuck a couple of times i would say it is as good as any of the surplus ones out there

I would not buy one...unless you want to dig yourself a hole you cant get out of...

THis is by far the best etool available.  It is balanced for throwing and is actually pretty accurate, kind of like the Spetsnaz fighting shovels.  The first time I threw it just to try, it stuck in a pine tree twenty feet away from me.  From then on it was endless campside entertainment (as I actually packed it with me in CO).  It also makes a decent seat for a backcountry toilet.  

Get it. They're light and extremely durable.  The saw is very useful as well.
