Grinder or a neater idea..........

Thermite. You will need a peice of Magnesium Ribbon, a torch,  powdered iron oxide and powdered aluminum. 50/50 iron oxide and aluminum set off with a magnesium ribbion. Bye bye chain.

There's nothing you can't do with those.

Demo saw with a ductil/ferrous metals disc.

Or, use the Ironworker.

Failing that, 4" disc grinder with a cutoff wheel.

Failing that, sawzall

Failing that......you're fucked.  Try a dremel.

You need to build a coffer dam or the thermite will just flow over the side of the engine.   Trust me on this!!!

A appropriate number of  wraps of Det-Cord will take care of a chain in short order.   Leave the linear shape charges for more fun adventures like cutting safes apart.

Re-bar cutters work great. That's what we use at the hardware store to cut the hardened transport chain.
