We're a site full of mostly aware and prepared people, in varying degrees. We also know that certain emergencies cannot be planned for, nor will any preparations make a difference in our survival.
One of these is a suicide bombing. If you're too close to the exploding bomb, you're dead.
But hold the phone!
In every bombing, there are a number of dead and a much larger number of people who survived, and outside the injure radius, confused and scared people just milling around.
Understanding that if you survive a bombing, you will be very valuable if you are able to tend to the wounded. Even basic first aid will be much better than just standing there.
Nobody can help the people who were inside the kill radius. But swift attention can save a lot of people who were in the injure radius.
