No, no, no, here's the HAL hurricane machine! And it's overclocked, too.

Wouldn't it be ironically grand if Haliburton was awarded clean up & reconstruction contracts by the LA government?

One of the reasons why the big H and a handful of other companies get these contracts is that they are the only ones who can do the big jobs.

This would be funnier if I didn't know someone who posts on this site who actually believes that.

KBR, a HAL subsidiary, landed some rebuilding contracts in MS already. houston.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2005/09/05/daily5.html

Jan Davis, a spokeswoman for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, told AP that KBR will receive $12 million for work at Naval Air Station Pascagoula, Naval Station Gulfport and Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The company will receive $4.6 million for work at two smaller Navy facilities in New Orleans and others in the South.

KBR has provided similar work after major disasters in the United States and abroad for more than 15 years, including in Florida after Hurricane Andrew.

Since MS has a GOP governor, it stand to reason that they would start repairing FASTER than the backwards state of LA, and hire a company that has and can "get 'er done".
