Someone posted some pictures in the AR-15 section that showed 6 or 8 NOPD guys walking the street carrying Commando M-4s with ACOGs and Surefires.

Nothing wrong with a M1 carbine. It will shoot a looter dead as quick as any other firearm.

I saw what appeared to be a civilian with a mossberg 590 defense model i think its called, the ones with the heat shield and 20in. bbl

Did anyone see one of the video clips where the cop shoulders his shotgun on a looter at almost point blank range? Draw Down! He made him drop his loot and get out. Probably was an 870 but I've seen 1300's as well. They also werekicking BG's out of the stores during the clip. It was good to see, the shotgun works well in riot situations. Drudge had a pick up of homie riding a bike in Mao-Mart with what looks like a side by side at the ready. If someone wants to post it I can email it, no online space currently.

Yea saw guys clearing out the convention center with an M1 carbine.
Also, saw a frieman with an SKS w/ bayonette, checking fire hydrants the other day. Saw a Policeman with a opened folding stock (over the shoulder) undentified shotgun, while helping a citizen evacuate their house today. |

The reason you have seen the NOPD guys with long barelled shotguns is that NOPD does not issue shottys to them.

Don't knock the M1 Carbine. It may not be uber-tactical, but it will drop a bad guy if you are in a CQB situation.

lol keep watching, one of em I seen showed some "reserves" jumping out of the back of a duece, most of them had mossberg Shotguns and one had an UBER tactical almost bone stock with cheap muzzle break Mini and another with what prolly was a WASR-10 , These guys musta been reserve police from some BFE town. Firefighter with the SKS has to be the best though.

Hey, I was about to post that one. But yours turned out better than a scan from today's newspaper would have. There was also a pic of an officer with a Mini-14 with the same cheesy stock, but with a telescopic sight mounted. He even had the uber-tactical slip-on flash hider. |

Never realized it, but apparently there's a hell of a lot of Mini-14s out there. Seems like everybody who wasn't issued an AR by some government body and still wants a rifle is carrying one.

I have an old GB... It was the first semi rifle I ever had other than a .22 and is a fine rifle. No problems at all. |

Having owned a Mini-14, and remembering how much the shots wandered whenever the barrel started to heat up, I'm really bothered everytime I see a police officer with a scoped out one.
