The timing on this is terrible. The liberals will hold Bush's nominee hostage in exchange for concessions and admissions of incompetence related to Katrina disaster response. It's gonna get really, really ugly. Bush's leadership, meaning how strong he can stand against the liberals, will be tested in this battle like no other in his Presidency.

He was lucky. His cancer killed him pretty quickly, and he was able to do what he loved right up to the end.
I wonder who Bush will nominate to be Chief Justice. Hopefully Scalia, or maybe Thomas. That'd be a legacy maker: Appointing the first black Chief Justice to the SCOTUS. |
