Anyway out there know how I would go about finding an old college friend.  It's been about 5 years since I saw her last.  Easiest method, preferable online, maybe just an email address.  Any ideas?

I used the college alumni online directory.

If they don't have one, maybe www.classmates.com.  You will have to pay with this one. I forget how much.

You could also Google her.

You may have a point.  I thought about that.  You never know, these days.

Fixed

ETA: If it's that important, hire a PI. He shouldn't want to contact her without her consent, right? The PI should be able to give her his contact information, and then it's up to her.  He should be careful what he asks for, too.   Maybe SHE will have a surprise for HIM.

I have found people before, and when I did, I set up a double-blind deal, where I contacted the person who was the object of the search, saying so-and-so was trying to find you, do you wish to communicate with this person? etc.  If so, I gave this person the contact info for the person who requested the search, and informed the  person who requested the search that I had found the person, and if they wish to speak with you, they'll call you, especially if the object of the search was female and the person requesting the search was male.

Nah, don't want to hire a PI.  It's not that important, I just want to get ahold of someone that I was pretty close to many years ago.  If I can't find her, cool, if not, oh well.

Did you HAVE to make us picture that one?

One of the times it wasn't all tucked in, I just got a HAIR caught in the zipper, and that was bad ENOUGH.

I second the alumni association.  It will help you a lot if she has, for instance, gotten married and changed her name.
