Shotgun Ammo is heavy, bulky, and not very resistant to water.
Slugs give the shotty a what, 100 yard range? For full-on End of the world? I'll grab my AK in .223, best of both worlds ! |

if the world ends.. you'll need defense in depth.. at a minimum... CQB say AR15 or perhaps AK, sniper and hunting.. 308 minium, a 22 for squirrel and small game, a 50 automatic (several) for protecting the compound with interlocking fire, mortars for over the hill defense, claymores for protecting the wire and and controlling entrances....
oh and i forgot grenades for tossing at the unfortunates that come over the wire.. and if you can get them.. rpgs.. great for close in attacks on vehicles and defensive positions.. |

when the SHTF I hope to have a biodiesel 2 door humvee with that mounted in the bed, and a towed cooking oil processing unit.
