To the DU lurkers

The more I read your posts at DU, the more amazed I become.

In order to enact your ideas, you need to have some semblance of power. In this country, power comes from having members of your party in public office. Generally, the more people that your party has in office, the more power you (and your party) have. Now, the way that you get your party in office is to have them elected. In order to get them elected, you need to get more votes than the opposition. You can NOT get members of your party elected by stomping your feet and throwing tantrums. Granted, if that was the path to election you guys would win hands down, but unfortunately for you, it is votes that count.

Strangely enough, one of the best ways to get a person to vote for your party's candidate is to NOT repulse the person. That has been one of your biggest (if not THE biggest) faults. Most of the people of America find you repulsive. I know that right now you are probably laughing, wondering how in the world people could find you so repulsive. That is a sign of arrogance. Arrogance is one of the many reasons people find you so repulsive. Now let's look at just a few of the other reasons that the American public finds you so repulsive and refuses to vote for your party...

You are full of hate. You hate Christians. You hate Republicans. You basically hate anyone who does not completely agree with you on all issues. Most sane people could just agree to disagree, but not you. You HAVE to hate. It may come as a shock to you, but many voters refuse to vote for someone that hates them.

You are hypocrites. You claim to be the party of tolerance, yet you refuse to tolerate anyone who happens to not walk in lock-step with you. A lot of voters feel uncomfortable voting for a person who says one thing while brazenly doing the complete opposite.

You are arrogant AND shallow. You think that you are the brightest of the bright and the creme of the crop. You think that no one can be as intelligent as you. To you, a liberal college professor is more of a person than a conservative country farmer. Your big problem here is that the vote cast by the conservative country farmer counts just as much as the liberal college professor.

You hate America. I know you like to pretend that you don't, but all of your words and actions say that you do. Although it may surprise you, most of the people who vote ARE actually AMERICANS. They are leery of voting for folks who hate their country.

You are insane. I know that you don't think you're insane. That's perfectly understandable. Most insane people DON'T think that they are insane, but you are. You see conspiracies where none exist. You make up wild off the wall conservative encounter stories and tell them as the truth. You blame every single problem in the world on Bush and the Republicans. Most normal people just will NOT vote for individuals who are insane.

I realize that you are doubting and denying everything that I have said; however, it is all sadly true. If you do happen to ever have a semi-lucid moment and read some of the posts at DU you will be able to see for yourself. But that's neither here nor there. Your denial (which I believe is actually another sign of insanity) is really not the issue here. So back to the subject...

I know that you can't really change who you are. You are hateful, arrogant, insane hypocrites, but not all is lost. You can actually use your hypocrisy to your advantage. If you PRETEND that you are normal and tone down your moonbat rants, maybe people won't find you so repulsive and will vote for a few of your candidates. I know that its difficult to comprehend but your only two real choices are: 1) pretend to be normal and hope that enough people will vote for your candidates that you can keep at least a small toe-hold on power, or 2) continue showing the country that you are hateful, arrogant, insane hypocrites and become a virtually extinct party with no power.

If you doubt that number 2 could happen just think about how many times since the 2000 elections that you've claimed that "Bush is toast", "This has legs", "The tide is turning", etc. How much of those tide turning toasty legs have bore fruit? I believe the answer is none.

You're probably wondering why I've taken the time to try and help you. The answer is simple: you're entertaining. Your display of lunacy and ignorance is more comical than any sitcom on TV so I'd rather your party not go completely away.

Waste of bandwidth, IMO. DUh-ers ignore anything that doesn't fit into their little socialism scheme & reality & truth clearly destroys all of their arguements. Thus they ignore both of those elements on their march to wealth re-distribution & socialism for all.

Not their America, just the rest of America ... different color America ... different religion America ... different state America and on and on and on until that person's view of America are the dozen or so people inside his life. There are a few that actually try to unite America but for the most part people ingnore and dismiss them. The liberals are a laugh a minute and it really scares me that there are people that buy their vision hook, line, and sinker.

Now, personally... I say let the freakshow continue... I seriously think that the longer they bleat on uninterrupted about things the more "out there" they'll get. They'll drag a small percentage of the population with them but most of the message the Democrats have is so out-of-whack from anything that Joe and Suzy America consider normal that they're just going to lose people. And hopefully, elections.

At least that's how I have it sorted out up here *thwacks head*.
