I'm proposing that we write our Congress persons and local legislators to request that all State projects that constitute "Pork Projects" in the latest budget be declined and the $27 billion be directed towards relief and rebuilding in Lousiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.  Notwithstanding the tremendous loss of homes, businesses and the damage to a strategic port and industries, we need, as a nation, to show a United front and demonstrate to the rest of the world that we have the ability to rise above the petty politics and misgivings about our fellow citizens and show some compassion and strength of character.

A $264 million dollar bridge to nowhere in Alaska seems like an abomination at the moment.

I hate Pork, government style that is.
