OK, I might get my ass handed to me for this one, but here goes...

Yes, things are getting a bit heated around here this week, but at what point does censorship
rear its ugly head?(Let me be perfectly clear that I hold no hatred towards anyone that has not directly threatened my pursuits!!)

(gulp.)
Why does a site that so vehemently defends the 2nd, have such a problem with the 1st Amendment?

I am of the understanding that this is a privately owned site, so ultimately they can choose
what stays and what goes. But I was always believed that we, as a whole, should be allowed to express
our views. Whether hateful, scornful, incorrect, or whatever (porn!)...why shouldn't such views be allowed?

There are places on this earth that people like us get put away for good.
Why are we so uncomfortable with certain topics, content, or leanings?

I may fry myself for this, but whatever.
I originally came to this sight to participate in the opportunities that our American way of life affords us.

I hope not, I like it here!

Not trying to instigate a free-for-all, just get a feel for what is actually going on here?

The second Amendment doesn't mean publishers have to publish whatever any writer wants.

Even vanity presses won't publish some stuff if they don't like the content.

The second Amendment is just a limitation on the federal government.

Alright guys, I don't think popcorn will be neccessary!

T_B_S politely helped me better understand the stance that ARFCOM takes.
I appreciate that. Thank you. (also for not giving me the axe!)

I have no problem keeping within the CoC of this site.

That's a good enough analogy.  If you tried to get a newspaper to publish what gets you banned here in their editorial section you would not succeed.  Now if the same words were in a news story it might be different.

It's really simple.  How'd you like it if someone was calling you on the phone and saying stuff or sitting on the sidewalk in front of your house.  It doesn't get less offensive on the net.
