Because Pres Clinton was regarded as the first "Black President" by the black community. He is also regarded as a great communicator who can "feel your pain." Perhaps there is hope the Bill can ease the tension so that relief and aid workers can get in. |

Two reasons. First, Clinton went with Dad to Asia to help with the Tsunami - so he has some real world experience. Second, it's very smart. Having the leader of the Libs working on this helps to insulate the pres. from lib attacks.

oh man.. i hate to say this...
because bush is uncertain.. he don't want to stand up there by himself.... i voted for him. i would again... given the choices.. but he absolutely sucks in front of people.. 99 percent of the time... he's gonna do all the right things except stand up there and give people confidence.. he can't do that for whatever reason.. remember giulnai? ever hear churchill speeches...? cnn is having a field day.. bush might as well be roasting and eating the dead premature babies from the NO hospitals.. if they cant figure out a way to stem the left wing hurling there's gonna be hell to pay... |

It looks good politically and Clinton has lots of supporters and this really is a time for everyone to join together. By asking Clinton to step out front with Bush senior it gives the picture of a unified nation.
Thats my take on it at least. |
