My brother and his family live in Vancleave, MS, about 20 miles N of Pascagoula. Numerous bayous, creeks, sloughs in the area. We haven't been able to contact them by phone, but #1 daughter used her bank credit dept experience to track down someone in the email I received from the bro as the storm approached. He had gotten thru and relayed the info. The thing about the trees blows my mind. Their lot is about the size of a football field and was surrounded by trees. All are apparently down.
Edited for brevity, privacy.

Hi.
Just received this from J D, who was one of the recipients on the original email from Denise.  (the email you forwarded to me)
Please print this for Mom as I know she is interested as well.

Katherine,

I last spoke to Denise around 4:15pm on Monday.  Below are some of the things she told me and I shared with our department.

I do know that S. W. has spoken to Denise’s mom in New York a few minutes ago.  Her mom (Peg) said they have not heard from them since Monday Night either.  The Tomski phone number is New York is ..........

I certainly hope they are okay and all of our prayers are with them.

The horses have been located and are drinking water.

Trees are still falling and one scrubbed the side of the house.  Barn is gone.  Garage unscathed.  All trees completely gone as far as the eye can see.  Standing in a lot of water and the winds still really bad.

The casinos are either destroyed or gone.  Water was all the way up to the 3rd floor of The Beau Rivage.  The new Hard Rock Café was completely destroyed.  No word on Mary Mahoney’s Restaurant (yummy).

Her cellular signal is horrible.  LOL  Will be days before they are back on their feet but thankfully all 7 are safe.
