Normally I wathc DTMS for such uplifting programming as "An Uncivil War," about the civil war in Liberia, actually a prelude to what might happen here if a hurricane hit a major urban area...

Anyway, these guys get together in Delaware every year and use their contraptions to hurl 8-10 lb pumpkins.

I haven't finished watching, but the best so far was over 3700 feet.

Pretty amazing, and now I have to find plans to make a trebuchet.    

 This event takes place just down the road from me and is a real big event.
