I plan on picking up a Bushmaster within the month, and AR's are new to me. My only .223 is a Mini-14. What should look for, and at what prices? $850's a good starting price?

If you are buying new just pick out the model you want and that fits your requirements and you'll be happy. I have an A2 with a 20inch barrel and I love it. Shoots great, accurate, and super reliable. And Bushmasters customer service is wonderful.

I would save yourself some money by NOT buying the fluted barrel option.

At least go with the DCM model, the float tube, trigger and match sights will be worth it in the long run. It will be worth the extra money as it will cost more to add these later.
