Per Fox News and the scanner feeds. Two cops have been wounded and being moved to I10 by boat for medevac. Other people who have shown up with boats to help aren't being permitted to enter into operations due to this situation. Unreal.

they like the freakin chaos. i think the lot of them hung around for the pickins and to cause trouble. the innocents are always the ones who suffer. the predators just prey - thats what they do. they cannot fathom helping the situation - only creating more chaos.
my feelings: remove the helpless and innocent as far as we can tell and leave the rest of the trouble there to do whatever it is they like to do - let them live in the sewage and rubble. fence it off and leave their cans there. (i know thats impractical - just a vent  ) edited to add: we could use the area for urban warfare training and let the bastages see just what real world violence is like. it ain't video games and gangsta rap videos. |

If anything, this is actually a case demonstrating the NEED for the 2nd Amendent. It should be proof to the sheep that the police and government can't assure them they'll be protected and that in some cases, the only protection will be what you can provide yourself.

I remember stories of National Guard units not being issued ammo while doing duty after Hurricane Andrew.........man I hope this is not still the case. I cannot even imagine why anyone would want to be anywhere near this place unarmed right now.........you won't let me carry a sidearm.....no problem......bye bye......call me if you change your mind........I'm just taking my big truck of water, diapers, food, and medical supplies back home.

Couldn't sell guns Monday & Part of the day Tuesday because the NICS sytem was down due to the hurricane. Wouldn't it suck to hear news that hords of looters are on the way to your town and you can't buy a gun to protect yourself. |

This isnt very christian of me to say but, Martial Law should have been declared when the storm hit, send in a few thousand armed troops, and give orders to do whatever it takes to keep order. If that means 3 or 4 dozen looters are killed then so be it. Because of the looting and chaos perhaps hundreds or even thousands have already perished trapped in their homes. By taking out the troublemakers and haveing a good solid show of force, the victims who truly need help can be given aid.

I feel for the cops down there. While some are trying to keep order, other cops are joining in with the chaos. Case in point. Two cops in Walmart when a CNN reporter walks in. Some fat bitch and a skinny gal in the shoe department with a shoping cart. Reporter walked up to them and asked what they were doing. Big one says "Lookin for looters" just as one walks by carrying a TV. Can you say FIRED when this shit finally gets straightened out! Edited to turn it down a notch. |

This was the way during the '92 Los Angeles riots. People were lined up 10 deep at the local www.turners.com]Turners Sporting Goods[/url} but were told that they can't get possession of their newly bought guns until 15 days later. The state also suspended people from taking possession of their guns even after they satisfied the 15 day waiting period. Some people were saying that this is "unAmerican." I bet if this happen in Calif, the govt would've also suspended sales of ammunition. This has been done during 4th of July, and Jan 1. So a word to the wise. During the '92 Los Angeles riots, former NRA prez Charlton Heston also had many hollywierd libs calling him to borrow guns, and his reply was "they're all being used at the moment." |

IMO, it SHOULD become a referendum on MANDATING that ALL Doctors and Nurses should carry at LEAST 1 firearm WHENEVER on duty! PERIOD! This is EXACTLY why VICTIM DISARMAMENT ZONES are a BAD idea!

New Orleans: Welcome to American Baghdad. They're shooting at LEOs, rescue helicopters & rescue boats, attacking hospitals, overturning ambulances, hijacking supply trucks and generally ransacking and terrorizing what's left of the people and property in the city. Our own National Guard won't shoot looters and can't even arrest them because there's nowhere to put them. The gangs, dawgz, thugs and parasites wilding through what's left of New Orleans are now our own "American Insurgents". But I'm sure in 2006 they'll go back to being called "disenfranchised voters" by the Democrats and the media. |
