Dropping water bottles into nasty water seems like a good way to cause people to get sick.

Actually, most of the water would be brackish/salt in NO,  Doesn't fresh water float on salt water?  Not to mention the little air space in the bottles.

But... That is a dumbass idea.  Can you imagine thousands of 1 lb H2O bombs coming in at terminal velocity?

Exactly!  Typhus and cholera don't care that the INSIDE of the bottle is clean.  Let's hope these people don't work in hospitals!

Actually, it's a great idea...but not to help people. Use it as cover to fight the looters.
Fly Hercs on CAP patrols around the city loaded with water bottles and when see roving scum drop the stuff on them by the ton.
