They need to stop sending rescue helicopters and start sending helicopter gunships.

These little fuckwad hoodlums are starting to piss me off. I am sure these kind of people are a minority of the people in Louisiana. But they are making the good people look bad too. And what's more of a shame, their stupid asses are forcing resources to divert from critical rescue missions to deal with their asses.

With all the death and devastation, this is the last shit we need to be seeing. In some ways, it's more painful than the actual hurricane damage. At least the hurricane was an act of nature, uncontrolled by us. It's people doing all the looting, shooting, robbing and killing. What a frigging disgrace.

I was watching Fox earlier and one guy was on the beach area and he was talking about the 200+ year old homes destroyed. Said one was a pawn shop and it had $250,000 worth of guns stolen out of it.

Why weren't they in a safe? ATF is gonna be all over that guy! How many guns did this guy have to have a quarter million sitting in a pawn shop? Either that, or the guy is embellishing a bit for insurance reasons. Either way, he's in a world of poo!

Pawn shop only need to have 200 guns in inventory to make that figure.

The Sherriff down there said his officers are having to spend their time trying just to protect their resources, and that they are having to move in groups for protection.

It is insane that we have to expend effort on restoring order rather than SAR simply because we have a bunch of dumb f*ckers who insist on being criminal idiots.

And that is, pardon my language, total bullshit!

There is no EXCUSE for this kind of nonsense!

It is a SAD day in America when the authorities have to abandon efforts to help people so they can try to put down a criminal rebellion.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the fruit of liberalism. N.O. is a liberal hell-hole and the extent to which it has rotted is demonstrated in the aftermath of this storm. If the libbies are given free reign, this is what our ENTIRE nation will be like.

It isn't about survival. It is about nothing being around to restrain their criminal instincts. They see the police occupied trying to save people's lives, and immediately think it is a free lunch.

Like the 3 dumb mother f*ckers I saw on CNN this morning who claimed they have a right to steal a bunch of stuff because the police maced them. Nevermind that they had NONE of the dye from being maced on them or anything like that.....

They were just criminal f*ckers who are doing what they WANT to do because no one is around to restrain them.

Men will either be governed by principle or by the point of a bayonet. What is more horrific than ANY of the storm damage is the realization that a large portion of our population is not governed by morals or principles, but by the bayonet. Let the bayonet hide for a day or two, and these people resort to being animals.

Thank-you liberalism!

I was just thinking. After Andrew, the local population was the one that made a show of force. It was the locals that pulled together. Was it because so many were armed already? I think so.

Right away you had groups of semi organized armed locals patrolling their areas, armed locals had set up check points into their communities. Many people were carrying guns out in the open, even paramedics were armed. It was no big deal to see someone with an AK or an AR slung over their backs.

I think thats why even though there were looting in some of the more hardcore ghettos, it was kept to those areas. It didnt flow out of the crapholes. I truly think it was because of the show of force and resolve the locals had. People weret shy about dealing with looters. Many signs read "Looters will be shot, wounded will be shot again" and "nothing here worth your life" Sigsn like that were a plenty and so were the firearms in open.

The 82nd airborne made comments at how well armed some of the locals were. they didnt give anyone any trouble. If you walked down the street with an AK on your shoulders, they did not give you a hard time.

Why is Nola different? What were the gun laws like down there?

They are going to have to set up a safe zone and start evacing the peaceful along it under arms.  Close up shop after they are out and let the animals start trying to leave on thier own.  Hook 'em up as they escape or let 'em rot in the sewage.  They have got to get control of this.

They didn't loot my Dad's neighborhood.  Of course he and the neighbors were all armed.   They weren't all armed before the storm.  But one of the neighbors opened his safe and loaned out some guns to the unarmed.

Maybe he's an NFA dealer.  $22,000 a gun.    And a safe doesn't mean much if someone can use a truck to pull it off it's bolts or get a torch to cut through it.

When I was last down there a couple of years ago, there was a neat gun shop in the French Quarter that was full of OLD firearms, swords, etc.  They had muskets, Civil War sabres, flint lock pistols, extremely rare and historic artifacts.  It makes me sick to think that some of the goblins running around may have gotten ahold of some of it, never to be seen again.Spa King

I think all the upstanding citizens evacuated. If they were still around they'd probably be doing the same thing that the people near Andrew did.

Guns aren't magic. Give guns to a shithole and you'll get a bigger shithole. Give guns to responsible citizens and you'll get a responsible society.

Lots of pawn shops and gun stores keep their guns on display when the store is closed.  They almost always have a good lock on the door and an alarm system.  I don't know of any dedicated gunstore that would have sufficient gen safe space to store all his firearms.  My local gunstore has bars on the front door and windows, unlocked from the inside only.  I've no idea what kind of door he has on the rear.  If you've got the time and no cops around to stop you, it won't take long to get through a barred window or door.

This "culture" is not restricted to one skin color. although one group does seem to be trying to corner the market on it.
