Any changes to plans due to Katrina side effects?

Yea...

Had a trip to the mountains planned that is off due to the fact local gas stations are starting to run out of gas.

Still taking my dad fishing.  Plan to spend about $75 to fill the truck and another $30 on the boat.  Good thing he likes SPAM.

As sad as it is, I am going to the lake to go jet skiing all weekend.

Just doesn't feel right but life must go on I suppose.

Was thinking about going out with friends.  Doubt that is going to happen now.

Might still go to a high school football game Friday night.

Well, no.

I'm driving across the state to have a party at my fried's house. I would cancel due to gas costs, but since I'm leaving for Infantry basic on Tues. I figure "what the hell".

Since gas has gone up $0.94 in the last 18 hours I don't know where it will be come Friday. While I understand the cost increase may only be temporary, the local monopoly owner here will go as high and stay as long as he can.hHell, it may be cheaper to fuel with some of my whiskey come the weekend.

I'm thinking about going camping this weekend. I might actually get a campsite on a Holiday weekend without having to turn the minihome around and go back.

Will probably have to hit one closer to my house though.

Gonna go shoot some birdies at the farm, assuming there are some.  Eat some BBQ and relax.

Personally, for me I'm just going to kick back around the house, do a little Labor Day shopping at the local shopping center, a BBQ for dinner; nothing special. I'm trying to cut down on driving to save gasoline. Maybe unpack and replack my BoB(bug out) bag. Just to re-acquiant myself.

Changes from the weather, no

Changes because of gas prices, you bet.

<tinfoil>  I expected gas prices to spike this weekend almost 6 months ago - so was not planning on traveling anyway </tinfoil>

I'm only worried about a gas shortage, but as of now, I am still planning on going to the UP for the weekend.

Nope.  Wasn't going anywhere before, not going anywhere now.
I am, however, DAMNED glad I booked my plane tickets for my trip out west in October before the storm hit.

Nope.  The worst was just to the west of us and we have only minimal damage here.

We'll be throwing my son's 2nd birthday party on Monday, and everybody who was coming should still be able to come (although some are still without power today ).

Ouch, I was considering going to Florida for a few days because my g/f has a meeting there (she already bought a ticket). I hate to even look at what a flight'll cost.

Yeah, I heard today that airline ticket prices are going to skyrocket at least temporarily.  Glad I got in before they did.  I WAS considering driving out west...glad I didn't decide on that.  Might still be difficult getting past the Mississippi River even in October.

Was going to NC to visit the wife's family for the long weekend.  Now that's up in the air.  We'll see how things look Friday.  If every other station's out of gas or if it's over $3.25, we aren't going.

Bushel of crabs, 1/2 bushel of clams, couple pounds of shrimp, and a whole fillet mignon that we will steak out ourselves.

Not changing a thing, other than that it will cost a bit more than I expected driving to and from my moms a state away.
