My local news just said that theu had preliminary information on some type of developing situation at the jail in NO. He said they had footage of the inmates being lined up for evac earlier but they had no further info.

So, is all this stuff that's happening in NO a SHTF situation? Is this what would happen in the rest of the US? And, maybe we should take a look and learn from all this?

Yep, that's what I heard.

I would already be dead because no filthy fucking POS would lay a hand on my family as long as I was breathing and able to move.

Say a prayer for them!

In most situations you should negotiate. With what's going on in NO I say put up the snipers with a shoot when you get a shot policy.
The cops do not need to be dealing with this now.

Official: Prisoners Riot, Take Hostages in New Orleans

Aug. 30, 2005 — Inmates at a prison in hurricane-ravaged New Orleans have rioted, attempted to escape and are now holding hostages, a prison commissioner told ABC News affiliate WBRZ in Baton Rouge, La.

Orleans Parish Prison Commissioner Oliver Thomas reported the incident to WBRZ.

A deputy at Orleans Parish Prison, his wife and their four children have been taken hostage by rioting prisoners after riding out Hurricane Katrina inside the jail building, according to WBRZ.

Officials are expected to hold a press conference regarding the riots at 9 p.m. ET.

A woman interviewed by WBRZ said her son, a deputy at the prison whose family is among the hostages, told her that many of the prisoners have fashioned homemade weapons. Her son had brought his family there hoping they would be safe during the storm.

I have no idea about N.O. but in some states some of the CO's and their families live on the prison grounds.

Is this Jail in East New Orleans?

Cause a warning was just issued that the water in East New Orleans is going to rise 9 feet in the next 12 hours...

That could bring this hostage situation to a very swift end...

Spring the deputy and his family by any means possible.

Send the rioters to U-boat commander's school.

This is a terrible, terrible thing.

...but the CO is a complete fucking moron for taking his family there in the first place.

His first obligation is to his family: not a bunch of fucking scum who are locked up because they cannot function in a civilized society.

Now, due to his foolish decision to take refuge in the jail instead of leaving the area altogether, his wife and children will likely pay a terrible price in the form of gangrape by scum with AIDS.

Nice.
