So what happens next time they order an evacuation?

Everybody knows that their homes will be looted and nothing will be done to stop it by the police.
Shoot 20 people now or lose thousands next time.

Yep, that was my first thought: Was the looter who shot the cop another cop?

Or was the shot cop looting from the looter?

I'm SURE at least some of NO's finest are looting. We are talking about a police department that has hired felons and the mentally retarded (for LEO positions) within the last few years.

ETA - there a re a lot of fine people in Louisiana, several of my friends live in NO, but lets face it there is a lot of swamp trash there too.
