on my bike ride the other day I saw this chick up ahead of me on the sidewalk.
get up to her, she looks 10 or 12 at the oldest, and she has a black leather(or possibly fake leather) purse with a big white  (playboy rabbit logo if the pic doesn't work) WTF? I'm far from a prude (I've gathered more than enough computer porn over the years to run multiple pay sites for a long time without repeating the content), but what parent would allow their daughter at that age to have Playboy stuff? Yeah there was no nudity or anything as it was just a purse, and maybe the logo just looks cool to some people, but it's still Playboy. Granted, Playboy is probably the tamest magazine that requires an ID check to buy but it's still technically porn. I guess it isn't as bad as the panties that say pornstar or worse on them, but it still seems ridiculous to me. Probably should have stopped and asked her if she even knew what the logo was for. 26 and ranting about kids like an old man |

Porn is becoming mainstream. Hadn't you heard? This is the inevitable result. Playboy is "mild" because there is far worse stuff out there, or so folks say. I say that when the bunny ends up on 12 year olds, its definition of "mild" needs to be revisited. |

From what I've heard, the Army says playboy isnt considered porn, its art (at least thats what I heard from an NCO I was talking to, he said you can still get it at the PX while real porn is banned).

it is mild as far as content goes, some boobies ass and trimmed bush is about all you see in there but, obviously as I started a thread on it, I agree that there's a problem with 12 year olds walking around with the logo. I still think PB is mild, but even "mild" porn and 12 year olds shouldn't mix openly (but if a 12 year old sneaks a look at some I can't be too critical as that's close to the age I first snuck a look at porn) |

Sick Fucker. I'm 30...two months shy of 31 and I spend the bulk of my day shaking my head at teen agers. The ones that make me laugh the heardest are the idiots who wear the pants so big that they either have to hold them up, or walk bow legged as if they had a load of shit in their britches. Otherwise, their pants would fall down. Hell, 3/4 of their asses stick out of them as it is. I told my son (11) that if I ever saw him in pants like that, I was going to sew pink ruffles on the tops of all of his underwear. Kids and Porn? TV teaches our girls that it is okay to be a slut. There is a toy company peddling dolls called Bratz. Basically little whore dolls. Check them out next time you're in Wal-Mart, Toy R Us or the like. |

you really want to rant and rave about something, if you have a Target store in your area go in and see the clothes they sell in the girls dept., it almost all looks like "stripper clothing", it's absolutely disgusting! My wife works for Target and couldn't believe her eyes, even raised the question about this clothing line and was told, this is what we're selling! Rave on my good man.

Yup. I saw a 13 year old girl in a T-Shirt that said "Boy Toy" on it, with a pair of pants that had "Juicy" written on the seat of them. I was overwhelmed with the urge to take off my belt and beat the living hell out of her mother. But the response from most would be "What's the big deal? Don't buy it for your kids if you don't like it" The hollowness of the arguement ought to be apparent to everyone. |

Some of the stuff that comes out of Hollywood & the pron industry is what feeds the Taliban-types (not saying it's right, mind you) but all they have to do is point to a Madonna or the like and claim they are within their religious duties, protecting their land from "decadent westernism" or however the hell they phrase it. Back on topic, people who let their kids act like trash often have a streak of trashiness (or at the least a strong streak of self-absorption) in them, not always both parents either, all it takes is one with iffy values... |

Shorts with logos printed across the ass. Seriously, it is never cool or attractive. A 19 year old college student with the Gettysburg Address printed across her boobs? I might stop and read. A 12 year old girl with "SEXY" printed across her ass? That is vile. It angers me because my eye is tricked into reading the word, and then I'm mortified having just looked at some infant in a way that might appear leering. *shudder* The only thing is worse is when the same girl, ten years and 95 pounds later, is wearing the same shorts that now say "S E X Y" in faded letters across the rolling prairie. Worse, but just barely. When I have kids they are probably going to think I'm the Worst Father Ever and a complete prude, because I refuse to let my underaged girl dress like a whore.

Look at the available role models...
Brittany Spears Christina Augilera Mary Kate and Ashley JLo Avril Lavigne Etc., etc. It used to be heroin chic, now it's whore chic. My daughter HATES it when my wife or I tell her to put on a longer shirt, or looser pants; and she begs on a regular that it's only another year until 16, can't I start going out on dates now. But to her credit, she lives with it, doesn't lie to us (at least to my knowledge...) and has at least a superficial understanding of why she doesn't need to grow up quite that fast. Of course it helps that we do not have (or want) cable TV, have only one computer (well supervised) and that we sacrifice a full second salary (my wife words parttime in the mornings) to make sure a parent is home when the kids finish school. A 13, 14,15 year old is still a child and doesn't have the reasoning abilty to make good decisions--hell, I was 30 before I felt I had really grown up. It IS the fault of the parents.... So, rant on Sharky30. I think you woud be a good father! |

I'm 19, 8 moths shy of turning 20, and I spend the majority of my day shaking my head at teenagers. We farmboys don't understand the fashion nowadays.........at all. No matter how good a parent you are your kids are going to try and get in on the current fashion fad one way or another. When I was kid (a long long time ago) the parochial school girls would be rolling their skirts up and putting on eye makeup at the bus stop. The parents never knew unless the school called them. If the girls mother didn't allow them to wear something she just kept it at her girlfriends house and changed into it there. There was always a some kid around who found his father's 8mm porn movies or "dirty" mags.
When my kids were growing up they were always amazed that what ever crap they thought up had been done back in my "olden days". Thirty years from now your kids will be saying the same thing about the stupid things their kids are wearing. |

A 4-5 yr old girl at my wife's work told my wife she thought I was "hot". She asked her if she knew what that meant, she said she did. Wife says it's probably from her mom, and if you'd see the way she plays with the Barbies, she knows what she's saying.
