what is the best way to remove after market pin striping from a car without damaging the paint.
the striping is about two years old and the sun has scorched it so when you try to pull it off it just falls apart.  i don't want to try a x-acto knife or a scraper of any sort.  i am looking for some sort of goop i can put on that will destroy the glue without damaging the car's finish.

thanks.

Some local auto parts places will carry a tool called "Stripe Eraser". It basically an eraser that you can mount into a drill or die grinder and it will burn off the stripe without hurting the paint. They aren't the cheapest thing on the market, but they do work good.

Bingo.  That's what we use to take the stripes off of old patrol cars here.  Works great.

I use a rubber eraser wheel in a cordless drill. Works great, and saves your fingers.

Eraser Wheel

Any auto body supply shop should have them.
