Goto the Cabela's webpage and in the search window enter: OF214071
This will probably take you to a screen where it will ask for the catalog#. Just ignore that and look toward the bottom and hit 'Find Product'. This should take you to a webpage that will list the ammo @ 1000 rds. for $74.95. I used to have an old add that I used to pick it up there for $77. It retails in the store for about $105 for the deal above. Tough to beat. |
fwiw, shipping for 2 cases was <$25 to my zip on the east coast.
That makes it cheaper than gunshow prices and WAY cheaper than Ammoman. Good deal. |
I also got a mailer a few days ago that gives me a little credit card looking gift card for Cabelas. If I spend 100-200 it gets activated for $25 bucks that I can use towards my next purchase. Basically if you spent $100 bucks and get it activated for $25 you got $25 off.
That's one hell of a good price.
ETA; ok.. I just bought 5K, works out to .08 @ round, shipped. SWEET!! |
Yep, just bought me 2K rounds. Best price I've seen for a long time. Usually the price is good but you get raped by the shipping.
Thanks for the tip! $89.74 shipped. Can't beat that with a hammer.
Thanks man!!! I just ordered two cases. Shipping was $25 for both to Texas.

What are your bad experiences? I've shot about 2K of the 7.62x39 with no failures or stuck brass (steel) at all. It's fairly accurate out of my SKS's and cheap as hell. Out of a lot of brands Wolf Match Target shoots the best out of my custom 10/22. A bulk pack of walmart will shoot quarter groups at 25 yards. With the Wolf I can shoot one holers all day in a 5 round group. Dimes at 50 if I do my part. The only thing I don't like with the Wolf for the SKS is that it leaves the little red paint all over the insides. But it could also be good since it's used to seal the bullet from the elements. Is Wolf mil-spec since the primer and bullet have the water proofing on them? Would it last in storage as well as brass cased ammo, for 10-20 years, like the surplus you can pick up at AIM? |
do you know if that is mail only, or can i pick it up at the srore? thanks,
Ditto on Wolfe. I've fired 700 rounds of FMJ Wolfe 7.62x39mm through my Yugo 59/66 and had only one malfunction. It was a short stroke which did not feed the next round. Since the gun was clean, I guess maybe the round didn't have quite enough powder. I can shoot about 5 inch groups at 100 yards using Wolfe in my 59/66. Bottom-line: Wolfe is a fooking deal. |

I consider Wolf to be "the good stuff" for my AK and SKS and excellent blasting ammo through my AR. The new coating just made it that much better, although I never had any problems with the old laquer coating. |

Yes, make sure you print off the online ad so they can match the price. I picked mine up here in Kansas City, Kansas the other day at the Cabelas that's about 25 minutes from where I work. |
Doesn't matter, or shouldn't matter.... I actually wanted the HP because I could use it to hunt, and I think it shoots more accurate... But if you want FMJ just ask for it. I had to get the FMJ because the store was out of HP. |
Me too. I'm glad I bought a lot when it was going for $70 delivered. |
From my experience the HP seems a little more accurate as well. |

It was early this year when I last bought wolf from Midway @ $68+shipping. Problably not going to see that price again, and shipping costs are bound to start going up drasticly, so stock up now!
I just checked their website and the FMJ is about $99 a case. I prefer the FMJ stuff in my AK's. Thanks for the link though. |

I order 2 cases, $87.35 a case delievered. while my romy's eats the HP all day long. my poly tech doesn't much like it. mmk

Here is a hotlink for this item: Link
Make life a bit easier. The woman at the retail location said that the price is internet only and they would not honor it in thier store. |
Wolf is good ammo. I have never had a problem with it in my AK. |
Nope. Sportsman's Guide is selling 640 rounds for 64.97. For 20 bucks more getting a full thousand rounds is a pretty good deal. |

I went to the local range the other day and the Guy at the counter says he has to inspect my handgun and rifle ammo.
Handgun is Winchester white box - no probs Rifle is Wolf .223 - no probs except that he wouldn't shoot it in one of HIS guns. I said, "Why not"? He proceeds to lecture me on how it is "steel cased", and will destroy the extractor on my rifle, and who knows what else. Then he reiterates, "But hey, if you want to shoot it in your guns, have at it" I tell him: "If it manages to break something on my rifle, I'll replace the broken part" Is this guy right, or is he just a nitwit? |
Some weapons might indeed have problems with steel cased ammo. Personally, it has never been an issue for my guns, but then again I only shoot Ruskie guns with Wolf ammo. Most of the problems I heard about with Wolf, however, was the result of the heavy laquer coating they put on their rounds. That would cause stuck brass and the like for some. Now that Wolf uses a polymer coating, most of those problems have disappeared. Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it. Extractors are usually easy to replace. |
Hrmm. Spend twice as much for ammo in order to protect a $15 part. That makes sense. |
Exactly, That's what I told the guy that went with me. fookin moron. |
I shoot Wolfe in my $175 SKS. If the steel case wears out the chamber, I'll just buy another SKS. |
i must have put on my dumbass pants today, when i try to find it, i keep getting no items found", even on meats hot link
Same here. I'll bet they sold out. Sheeeeeesh! I hope I get mine. |
