Its a German town whose original settlers were from the Alsace region of France. Its part of the German heritage of Texas. |

Castroville was named around 1870. I have relatives there. Some pretty good German bakeries.
REALLY clever those Communists. Naming a town after a dictator that had not even been born yet, of a country that did not exist. Of course, you ARE from Oklahoma.

It's pronounced "Casterville" for you folks from Okistan. Don't forget to stop at the dip station in Sherman on the way down. And I'd like to see you drive into town and let the squareheads know they're commies. It would be news to them.
FWIW, it's a real nice place with some good eating from what I remember. ETA: As for not being able to beat the school that can't even get it's initials in the right order, at least we don't have to go back to Norman. |
