Okay first off thanks for looking. I dont ever make posts like this but I'm kind of stumped. I'm looking for a gun to just have fun with. I've got handfulls of AR's, MAC, 50 cal, all sorts of shotguns, long range rigs, but I want something that will make me giggle
 Not interested in CIII stuff, dont like the idea of paying 200 dollars for something I dont belive in. However, I've got around three thousand set asside for my next gun but dont know what it's going to be.I saw there was a m60 for 5k in the EE...that has possibilites but its a little above the price range. An AUG might be neat to have but I dont know much about them. Any advice? Matt UPDATE: Gun(s) purchased! 1919 .308 IMI Uzi total price sub 3k money left for ammo! |

+1 for a belt fed. I have a 1919 and it's really fun. For 3K you can get the whole set-up, gun, tripod, links, belts, ammo, ammo, more ammo, and a linker. Here's a pic to tempt you...

Get that big ass .456 (or whatever, there was a post I saw a couple of days ago) AR upper for about 700 bucks, some rloading supplies (a couple hundred?) and 4 or 5 Glocks.
What more could you want? |

My AUG is pretty fun...but spares are pretty expensive. It's not really a banger. I take it out and have fun with it, but I definitily wouldn't abuse it like I'd abuse an AK or something.
Consider picking up an HK94 or clone (preferrably clone...much cheaper). VERY fun. I love my 94. Minimal recoil, spare parts are readily available, there's a bunch of good HK smiths around, and there's a lot of options as far as stock types, rails, sight mounts, etc goes. If you really want to go for the gusto, you can pick up MP5/10 or MP5/40-built HK clones...either SBR or non-title 2. They're a bit spendier, but much rarer. Having a full-house 10mm carbine seems like it'd be pretty fun. The SP89 mentioned earlier would also be pretty neat...I'll have to see about picking one of those up once I get settled in here. Another fun gun, for me anyway, is a FAL. Especially with a nice 30 round mag  Honestly, even an M1 Carbine, to me, is a pretty neat and fun thing. |

I strongly suggest class3 stuff.
Once you own C3 guns, semi-auto stuff is just plain boring. Take your semi stuff to a C3 shoot...You will feel like an airsofter.  A Sten mag converted M11/9 with a Mac-jack and suppressor is guaranteed to put a smile on anyones face. Mine always got plenty of attention at the shoots... The ROF is incredible. |

1919, definitely.
they will feed both cloth or metal links and with a crank can go 450 rounds per minute, almost the rate of the actual C3 1919 |

What builder should I stick with? Metal or Cloth belts? By the way.... Is that an aimpoint on that freekin cannon!!!!!!!! |

Their website doesn't say what brand, but it's just a basic red dot for sighting your cannon..... simple and effective. |

ORF is the economy gun, cheap as hell right now at CDNN, $999 i believe. fine gun mostly but most require minimal tweaking to get them to run. mine is an ORF, had to adjust headspace but now runs fine. they also have the most fragile sear. i am currently having my second 1919 built for me by www.alliedarmament.com but there are several builders out there. www.1919a4.com is the best resource out there. black bear, TNW, ohio ordnance works, all sell already built guns and are supposedly very good guns for around $2000 but i would suggest you have one built i used www.gunthings.com to buy what i needed for the gun, sent my 80% right sideplate to tom sawyer mfg. to be engraved and to allied armament for the build. respectively that was $800 + $85 + $330 so i'm having a quality gun built of an arsenal new parts kit for about $1200, best of both worlds, low price and quality. my current ORF likes metal links and cloth belts equally well so i run them both |

you have been assimilated don't know about the tripod........................i went with the cheapest but my adapter isn't here yet so i can't even tell you about that one i got the german AA tripod from sportsmansguide ($75) plus a dual can adapter, one for feeding one for catching links from a guy on 1919a4.com ($150) |

Sweet, I'll check out sportsmans guide tomarow.
I'm going to pick up the 1919 tomarow night, its an ohio rapid fire total price with some "goodies" was 1200. That will leave me plenty of money to pick up a decent tripod, some ammo and those sweet ass metal links that are going to be flying everywhere. Okay, now the second question......butterfly/spade grips....yes? no? cool? not cool? I think they look good, but then again, I did hoseclamp a flashlight to my M4 once.

heres my tripod and adapter............
 spade grips are very expensive (like 350+) plus they don't work with crankfire devices. i'd keep it like it is and spend the 350 for a good emory crankfire, myself. |

ME TOO! Okay, so I went to pick up the 1919 tonight at www.mitchellsupply.com<insert harmless plug here> This thing is freekin awesome! Totally what I wanted. And, I was going to buy some AK's too, but this UZI was looking me in the face...... So, at the end of the night, I left with some cash lighter and about 100 pounds heavier, and with a free hat! What a nice companion! Now time for ammo, links, ammo, belt linker, ammo, make sure you get a trunnion protector, those metal links will eat up the trunnion, oh yeah and some ammo
A6 config already, you're good to go!!

NO those are M60 links. 30-06 links won't work on a .308 either. Lift the top cover and start belt that way. Go to www.1919A4.com for all your questions. It's a great site. I own 2 1919's and I learned alot from the site. Roy |

Revival to an old thread...
Thanks for every ones advice on buying a 1919, best decision ever. Since my purchase, I've decided that it would look best on a tripod. I bought two, a M122 and an M2. The M122 is a brand new tripod, the M2 is a genuine Lovell Mfg. Co. WWII 'kick ass piece-o-metal! After a thorough sanding and refinishing, the LMC looks just fine for me. Here it is holding up some hardware, sporting a T&E and 250rd belt. The history with this gun is almost as satisfying as actually shooting it. They are real nice guns! Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated, however.....whats next?    Matt |
