this stuff I bought is so cheap, I hope I don't wake up blind in the morning.
I can;'t really bitch though, it was $10 a fith and I only had $11 in my pocket, so I had to make do, I can only imagine the hangover I'm going to have since this stuff ahs already giving me a headache. |

It's like when I make Black Velvets (80% Guiness & 20% champagne). People ask me why I'm ruining perfectly good Guiness by adding the champagne.
/me checks the liquor supply. Bourbon, scotch (just finished off the Speyburn single malt, down to the Grants blended), rum, vodka, tequila, kahlua, bacardi white rum, champagne (but I'm out of Guiness), baileys, midori, sake, and a bit over a case of various wines. I'm set, lets get the party rolling! |
|
Only if it's GOOD bourbon. |

I drink drambuie. bout 6 or 7 bucks a shot. I've seen people mix it with coke. Bastages. |

Now that is an oxymoron if ever I've heard one. Y'all are probably going to hang me for this, but I think Guinness tastes like kerosene or worse. Try Yuengling Black & Tan, it's better and half the price. MJD |

Bourbon is sweet enough without adding anything like coke.
give me a single malt or a good sour mash. |
|
Some people don't learn. You don't use top shelf booze in mixed drinks. |

|
if i could only describe to you guys the number of hennessey XO and diet cokes i've served to boneheads. i've had a guy ask for macallan 25 and sprite. and i've been witness to a guy ordering a louis XIII and coke. |

Hell, even cheap bourbon is best straight. What irritates the hell out of me is when folks mix it with WATER. That's friggin' nasty. I tried that with Jim Beam once and nearly spewed. I do want to get ahold of some Knob Creek and maybe a little bit of Woodford Reserve just to try the "finer" booze. MJD

The only think bourbon should be mixed with is ice cubes, if it turns to water then that's your fault for not drinking it fast enough! Truth is, if you're a bourbon on ice fan, after the burn of the first couple sips numb your esophagus, the drink gets less and less and less harsh as it gets watered down. Before you know it you're looking at the bottom of the glass thinking about making another drink. |

Try a Rusty Nail |

now that is one of the most fucked up things I have ever heard of. Louis XIII is one of the most expensive if not the most expensive |

In 2001, when I first joing ARFCOM, I was a newbie to the AR-15. I chose my username because KnobCreek is my favorite drink, on the rocks. I had NO idea that KnobCreek has such a strong tie to ARs (the big Kentucky annual shootout). Man did I stumble onto the perfect name for this website.
If you mix coke or sprite or whatever with bourbon, don't bother with the more expensive stuff. You just won't appreciate the differences. Just my $.02. |
|
$125 to prove that one is a sucker. |

man, where the hell are you getting your booze? |

What a great beer. All over the Des Moines area at a decent price. |
|
|
+1,000,000 Give me my Knob Creek STRAIGHT. Keep the ice, too. |

Who would have guessed Hy Vee would build such great liquor stores. |

+1 for this, a fith of beam around heres bout $16, hell a 1/2 pint of JD is $5, I might have to bootleg some booze back next time I'm in cali. if its that cheap, I usally buy gentleman jack, wild turkey, crown select or plain old JD, but last night was a cheap booze night, and I don't normally mix my burboun with anything, but this shit I had last night (canadian trader) was rough, and I felt like hammered shit this morning. |
