Some folks on Conservativeunderground.com are throwing around the idea taking the stupidest, craziest, most traitorous quotes from Democraticunderground.com and putting them on freeway billboards, kind of like those "God" billboards from a few years ago.

They're thinking about setting up a 527 and paypal account to fund it. Pretty good idea. Best part is, it's not slander and DU generates and endless spew of material for free. Things like:

"The world needs the US to lose in Iraq, and needs it to lose soon."

Brilliant idea, but how long before DU catches on and starts doing the same thing to Conservative Underground or Free Republic? They'll surely be able to take some of their quotes out of context and make them sound like lunatics as well.

I haven't seen anyone say "kill every last muslim on earth" on here? The last time anyone said anything similar to that they were banned. As for "nuke mecca" there are several congressman who believe we should make it an option for a WMD attack on the US.

We are a site the revolves around guns, politics are secondary. Conservativeunderground on the other hand may have to worry, I don't know, never been to either sites.

that's just saying the forum moderation is different here. if it was allowed, plenty of people would say "kill every last muslim on earth"

It’s a nice general idea.

But the main problem they have is picking a Quote that is really dumb. Some of the postings there aren’t 100% brain dead. Maybe 10% brain dead.
Somebody here or from CU might post something sick purely so they could put it on a billboard and then blame it on the DUm-DUm’s.

They will have to be very careful of the quote and who posted it.

There are slander laws they will have to be careful of.

How can you slander a non-existent identity? Just a screen name, which nobody has the real contact info for?

If it was posted and it is in a public area of the site, it is free game, AFAIK.
