I'm planning to purchase a battle rifle (probably an FAL) in 308 soon, and would like to get some recommendations on ammo for it.

With .223, most folks seem to use either XM193 or Q3131a, which is both high-quality and readily available.

What is some high quality 308 ammo that is also easy to locate? I've read where the Australian stuff is pretty good, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

For surplus, I like that about as good as anything.

Just make sure you avoid the stuff coming in from India.

The only Ammunition Forum I could find was over under the AR-15 section. If I posted it there, I'm sure someone would bitch about me posting about 308 instead of 223 (AR-15).

Is there another Ammunition Forum I'm missing?

I ordered 2400 rounds a month ago. SOG gave great service. They charged $20 per 800 round case for shipping. I searched hi and low. No one else has this Aussy F4 ammo. This is the best surplus .308 out there. I'd snatch it up quick.
