Hi all,

In another post I have stated my new found love for a Colt Combat Commander that has come into my possession.  It's an awesome gun and I'm hoping that some of you might have some information about the finish.

The nickel plating on the pistol is in pretty good shape, but I'm concerned about the extreme humidity here in Va with constant carry.  I've also heard that nickel is pretty soft and easily damaged.

So I've got a couple o' questions:

1.  Is nickel a good coating for a CCW constant carry piece?
2.  If it is good, then how do I get the finish looking better?
3.  If nickel sucks, then is it possible to get the nickel stripped and refinished?

Thank guys . . .
