OK, so basically I use Google for my searches (both on the web and my harddrive). Along with every search I do I get the little ads based on what I was searching for. Somewhere that is being recorded. The page rank feature is also telling google about what sites I'm looking at. Then I get little personal ads and whatnot whenever I check my email b/c google scans it. Finally, the Google sidebar monitors things that I'm reading so that it can customize a set of news articles, and of course advertisements.

I'm not bitching at all. I actually enjoy having all this work done for me. I don't have to waste time doing it myself and also I do in fact find myself reading a lot of things google "thinks" I might like. Its just a little scary having all these programs monitoring, cataloging, and recording my every move. It probably knows my habits and my likes/dislikes more than many of my friends.


Anyone else in this situation?

Google told me to search for porn. Google can read my mind.
