I just got this back!  It looks great.  It was done by Will at Red Jacket Firearms in Baton Rouge, LA.  It started life as a Norinco Mak-90.  I didn't know at the time I registered it that I should have used a European gun, but hey hindsight is 20-20.  Haven't shot it yet, but we'll have a range report soon!  So what do you guys think?

Me with Krink.

I paid 700 for the conversion, and that included parts!  I couldn't even buy the parts from K-Var for that.  I paid about 400 for the gun in 99 I believe, plus the 200 tax stamp, so total I have about 1,300 in the gun.

Haven't shot it yet, but I will this weekend. I promise!  Nothing is going to keep me from shooting this thing.  I just barely got in on the krink thing as well, since we can no longer buy barrels for the parts kits.  Does anyone make American krink barrels?  I have a SAR-1 that seems a little long.  Oh, shit this is getting into my blood...

I'm confused.  Is a krink a class II or class III or just nicely evil-looking.

I've lived far too long without knowing the answer to that question.

BTW, nice rifle.

SWEET!

Did he build it on a form 3 and then do a form 4 for the transfer to you from your SOT?

What was the turnaround time on that?

Thanks

It's Class III SBR (short barreled rifle).  I love AK's and just had to have one.

I registered it on a form 4, then send him a whole rifle and a copy of the approved paperwork.  He worked his magic and sent it back.  It took about 2 months to finish, but that was because he had to wait for the parts kit to come in, these are getting harder and harder to find now.

More jealous than you can believe. That is exactly what I want/desire/need.
