sit rep:
customers box had spyware so we reformatted and reinstalled the ME OS (i know - ME bites), now, the drivers from ATI will not install. They start the install process, but then say the drivers are not for this device.

Card has ' rage 128 pro" stamped in large white letters.

I had this same issue on my old box, but changing to XP solve the proble.

any ideas - that don't involve an OS or vid card change????

( vid card swap is currently at top of list of solutions)

Are you using the ATI Rage driver direct from ATI (not the radeon)?

Try extracting that exe out and doing a manual update pointing to the 'Atidrive' folder that extracts out.

ATI drivers have always been problematic for me. Look for their older drivers on the website, they used to have them all the way back to the Rage cards. I dont know though, I gave up on ATI after 3 of their cards.
