Police Seize Nearly 300 Pounds Of Drugs

Five People Have Been Arrested

Aug 19, 2005 11:59 pm US/Pacific
LOS ANGELES (AP) Authorities say a road rage report led police to three San Fernando Valley locations where they arrested five people and seized nearly 300 pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine.

Police say the drugs had an estimated street value of more than ten million dollars.

Officers responding to a call of a road rage incident saw a man matching a suspect description run into a townhouse in Granada Hills. Inside, officers found a shotgun and a plastic container holding what appeared to be crystallized methamphetamine.

Police say a search of the townhouse and two other locations turned up nearly 276 pounds of cocaine, 12 and a-half pounds of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.

Four of the five people arrested have pleaded innocent.

He was probably using as well as selling.

Hence the bad temper, which led to road rage, which led to his being uncovered...

A road rage report leads to searches of 3 different residences?

More likely a snitch is having his (or more likely, her) identity protected.

The news brief clearly does not explain the complexity of the investigation.

The poice likely chased the supocet into the first residence, finding the SGN & container of meth in plain veiw. At that point they would do a protective sweep only, detaine the residents, and write a search warrant.  Once the warrant is signed by the judge, search the res and collect the evidence.  Then they interview the suspects and those interviews lead to the other loactions. either the suspects signed written consent to search forms or the cops wrote two more warrants. I'll bet this was a 30 hour caper, at least.

What is the true likely fallout?
Does the responsible party get "whacked" like in the movies?
Or does that only happen in the movies?
