They did here in Laredo! About 4 cents overnight.

Maybe the wind just came and blew off the number or something....

Oh, you just aren't familiar with the cycle.

It goes down 5-8 cents per gallon, and then increases 25-35 cents per gallon shortly thereafter.

Last Tuesday gas was $2.79 when I left Indy.
When I left last night it was $2.48.
That sir is a price drop, and a much needed one.

Media reports have a building affect on the price of gas. They cause panic buying and a momentary increase in demand. After the inital increase, the price usually drops off a bit.

With labor day coming soon, there will be another spike and then a gradual decline. However, I think $2.50/gallon is here to stay for a while.

I paid about $3.17 over the weekend. That hurt, since I was doing 800 miles at 21mpg.

I caught the chevron manager a sleep. Paid 24cents a gallon. Then thought when I paid that sure is low. He asked me' ya mowing the yard today?'. We then saw that he had mischanged the pump setting at the register. It was suppose to be 2.499 a gallon. Good thing I was the first sale of the day.

Average price seems to be 2.48 to 2.65 depending on the part of town.

Ok, guess the gas gurus on this side of the hill are a little slower than you east cost folks.

2.69 regular
2.79 premium
2.89 supreme
2.85 diesel

Thats about 4-5 cents lower a gallon than last Friday.

Oh joy.  I might be able to buy a pack of gum now.
