Nationwide?
We either shell out a lot of money and time in a relationship to get some tang, or we pay outright for it. Either way you'll pay for it.
No.
To elaborate, being illegal does help to get rid of a few of the crack whores off the street. If you really wanna pay to play, go to a classy strip club. |
Dont have an opinion either way.
Legal? Yippee. Illegal? Yippee. |
Are you advocating an amendment to the constitution of the United States forbidding states from banning prostitution? |
Dude i went to one with a buddy to watch the game and girls during halftime and commercials. I don;t have time or cash (guns take priority) to go often so it FREAKED me out when one took out a condom. It was crazy. |
I've been out to Pahrump where prostitution is legal. It has not destroyed the community and it hasn't started to rain locusts.
I think that with proper safety regulations, it should be legal. |
Happily married and not looking for poon, so really it doesnt matter to me one way or the other.
But I would have to vote for yes, I think it should be legal. |
Well I guess it really doesn't matter to me, but if it was legal it would need to be regulated. Truthfully it would probably be for the best if it was regulated.
Yes.
I would never partake, but if others want to......free will and all that. |
Leave it up to the states. Just like gambling. I hate .gov intruding on states rights.
It's mostly the pimps and drugs that help give the oldest profession a bad rap.
I didn't notice any problems in Hong Kong, where even an absolute loser could get some. Like most anything else, if you don't like it, simply don't go there. |
Number of prostitutes I have arrested for solicitation: Zero.
Number of pimps I arrest for beating the hell out of their girls: Lots Percent of cops I talk with that think it should be legal: about 85% Legalize I say. I don't see any pillars of salt in Nevada. Sheep |

Hell No. With the rise in AIDS cases in this country at least until a cure is found if ever plus there is the thrill of doing it because "the law"says you cannot if you take that away where is the fun?

what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unless you contract some nasty little virus and bring it home to the wife
Sure, you have a right to use/abuse your body any way you see fit.

Actually what I should have said earlier is that every woman has their price. It' my be how much work and emotion you put into it, but it may just be cash or free. People spend money and people have sex. Let the whores make a nickel
Yes, absolutely.
What two consenting adults choose to do between themselves, whether for money or not, is not anyone's business but their own. Prostitution should be legalized, regulated, and taxed like any other legitimate trade. I've put a fair amount of thought into this lately, actually. This doesn't mean that street hooking should be legal. No, I believe that it should always be illegal to hook on the street, but legal to work in a bordello, under safe, controlled conditions with security and out of the public eye. And RSTs (Recreational Sex Therapists, their new title) would be subject to licensing and regular STD testing and given training in safe sex practices, STD transmission, risky behaviors, and the like. Any woman (or man, for that matter) that is in that business should have no illusions about it, , and should know the hazards quite well. And, all bordellos should have publicly accessible records (regarding the license and health status of the employees), and they should all provide mandatory health care insurance to their employees. The job pays well enough that they should be able to afford health care. I've actually started putting together a package on this issue that I want to forward to my state senator. I'd like to see Florida legalize it, following Nevada's lead. I'm sorry, but if your local LEOs are actually trying to arrest prostitutes, you've got yourself one lazy ass police department. Get out there and go try to solve a crime, instead! CJ |
Yes.
What two consenting adults do with each other, money involved or not, is no business of the state. |

I feel liike this It's seems all i do is argue about social issues with nitwits, and it just pisses me off, so without reading a single post on this topic i'm gonna sign off..........

"Selling is legal. Fucking is legal.
Why isn't selling fucking legal? Why should it be illegal to sell something thats perfectly legal to give away?" -G. Carlin And I have to say I agree with him. No street walkers, though, if only for health reasons. Only licensed brothels. Throw some health regulations on them and tax them. I imagine some of that "fiery youth energy" would be directed to a brothel rather than toward vandalizing cars and such. Just a theory. |
absolutely NOT
the world has enough problems as it is, lets not add to it. |
It should be legal and regulated in the same manner it is in Europe (regular STD screening, etc).
Keeping it illegal is simply a disservice to everyone. |
What kind of problems would it cause? Please do say. Perfectly legal in most of Europe, hasn't resulted in any problems there. |
The government should not be involved in my
life, unless Jesus doesn't like something I do. It's a good thing that Jesus likes guns. |
legalize it with certain government imposed guidelines...required checkups, etc.
Yes.
Sure it's immoral, but it is TRULY "what a woman can do with her own body". She (and her Johns) simply need to live with whatever consequences (disease, pregnancy, divorce, murder, etc.) ensue. My .223..... |
It's not!
Sorry, I guess a marriage certificate makes it legal. I forget these things sometimes. |
Yes, and cmjohnson nailed the answer. Excellent summary, IMHO.
Maybe but you can forget it for it doesn't fit the "It's for the Children" liberal double standard. A woman has the right to abort their unborn child. A woman has the right to sell a child into adoption. A woman has the right to get paid for having someones child. Not sex. It won't pass the you can have sex with anyone you want except my husband/boyfriend test. Tj |
