I sit here tonight, scared shitless of a large brown envelope that is on my desk, given by a friend of 40 years just before he went off to the Middle East. All he said was that I would know when to open it. I just learned this evening that he has fallen,  So here I sit, filled with rage and afraid of an envelope…………To all Brothers and Sisters serving this great Nation, no matter where you are, you have my undying gratitude. To all who have fallen, all I can offer is a bow of the head and a moment of silence. I don’t know what else to do

Every ones kind words mean more then I can say. I did read the cover letter and have a lot to digest. My lovely wife got out of bed and wants to take my dog and I out for a walk in the moon light and that sounds pretty good right now. Thank you again and I will post an update tonight. Need some time now……….

Take some time to relax, it is not necessary to read the letter tonight if it seems like too much of an emotional burden.

Thanks for your friend and prayers for him, his family and friends.

"Said the Lord to the child,
behold my City.
Where the Fallen walk my walls,
Warriors in Eternal Rest.
Cast your eyes upon my Gates,
as they enter, born by Brothers upon their Shield.
Here, I raise them up,
for in my house, the Soldier stands with me."
