It's not the US yet but this might be what we have to look forward to in the metropolitan areas anyway. At least when they decide on outright confiscation they go to the local storage location and collect everything in one day. How convenient.

Store guns in central depot
mayor: No reason to have a firearm at home, Miller says

August 16, 2005
Gun owners in Toronto may soon be prohibited from keeping their firearms at home even if they are properly licensed and registered, Mayor David Miller said yesterday.

"There's no reason to own a gun in Toronto -- collector or not. If you are a collector and you have a permit, the guns need to be stored in a way that they can't be stolen. And perhaps a centralized facility of some kind could accomplish that goal," Mr. Miller told the National Post. "

There is no reason to be a car collector or keep it at home.

v-8's must be stored properly so they aren't stolen or misused.
You must place your 69 SS Chevelle in a Toronto garage run by the mayor.

Screw him. And I'm not a Canadian!

If anyone says we need to lock up our firearms in central storage, they'll get a good

No way, no how.

They did that in Norway prior to WWII, and when the Nazis came in they just went to the gun club armories.

They did that in some of the Soviet satellites, and when the Ruskies came in, etc.

And this is why you don't register, either.

This is why you need to purchase as many firearms 'private sale' (I should take my own advice).  This is the only reason those fuckers want to ban the 'gun show loophole' ie. private sales.  Many states already have.

You don't need your stinking guns.  The secret police of the reich will protect you from the undesirables.  No one will want for anything in our utopian socialist system.

Maybe the Canadians can't claim they've have boat accidents because the waterways are frozen over for most of the year.

Amen, and boy, do these Canadians know it. Support these folks if you can-what they're doing would make our country's Founding Fathers proud.

"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." — Daniel Webster

Sounds to me like there is more reason to own a gun in Toronto than there has ever been.

Central, Govt-controlled centers do NOT protect form theft.

Where is that article from a while ago about some guys who broke into a LEO storage facility in CA and stole a bunch of firearms, explosives and detonators?

The vast majority have no idea how awesome it is in the U.S.  There is a lot of negative propaganda by the ultra left-wing media.  I came here for college and my eyes were opened.

Is anyone surprised?  Really?  Only real surprise to me is how long it's taken for this to happen up there, or the notion of 'private ownership' is even given a modicum of consideration from a gov't official at all.  I doubt there'll be any resistence.

Hmmm.... no place is 100% theft-proof, "where there's a will, there's a way." It is will just make it easier for the theives to have guns stored all in one place.
